Orre is a desert region, far from the green landscapes of Kanto or Hoenn. Its towns are scattered among dunes, canyons and a volcano, and you travel from one to the other by motorbike, choosing your destination on a map. The developers drew heavily on Phoenix, Arizona. Here are the places you will pass through.
The Outskirt Stand
An old locomotive turned into a bar and shop, isolated in the desert. It is Wes’s first stop after his escape, the place to buy your first Poké Balls, and the place where the last Shadow Pokémon of the game appears, a Togetic.
Phenac City
An oasis built around water, the first real town of the adventure. You meet Rui, the mayor and the first Colosseum there. The first four Shadow Pokémon are found here.
Pyrite Town
The town of thugs, overrun by Miror B.’s henchmen. It holds Duking’s Colosseum, a building run by Team Cipher and, set apart, Pyrite Cave. It is the biggest reservoir of Shadow Pokémon in the early game.
Agate Village
A village perched in the greenery, home to former Trainers, including Es Cade, Rui’s grandfather. It shelters the Relic Stone, the only place of purification for Shadow Pokémon, deep in the forest.
Mt. Battle
A complex of one hundred arenas at the foot of a volcano, where the admin Dakim has set up shop. See Mt. Battle.
The Under
An underground city with artificially lit streets, controlled by the admin Venus from the television station. It holds a train station and Under Colosseum, where the King of the Under reigns.
The Shadow Pokémon Lab
Hidden in the desert, the “Shadow Pokémon Lab” is Team Cipher’s factory, run by Ein. Our walkthrough from the time called it the “Mysterious Laboratory”.
Realgam Tower
Team Cipher’s headquarters, a gigantic tower topped by a Colosseum. The last admins, Gonzap, Nascour and Evice, await you there.
The Snagem Hideout
The hideout that Wes blows up at the start of the game. It becomes accessible again after the story, with its last Shadow Pokémon.
The complete route, in order, is described in the walkthrough.
