The Gates of Phenac City

In the mayor’s office, in addition to the big yellow “Disco”-style guy, Miror B. himself, you met 3 Team Cipher Peons dressed in red, blue and green.

Now, as you leave the office, you find them guarding the gates of Phenac City… And this is where you have to choose your “path” in the game.

-> The green Peon / Verde = Trainer of Bayleef (a Grass-type Pokémon)
-> The red Peon / Rosso = Trainer of Quilava (a Fire-type Pokémon)
-> The blue Peon / Bluno = Trainer of Croconaw (a Water-type Pokémon)

Cipher Peon Rosso – Grimer [26] – Quilava [30] (S) – Spoink [24] – $900

Cipher Peon Verde – Grimer [26] – Bayleef [30] (S) – Spoink [24] – $900

Cipher Peon Bluno – Grimer [26] – Croconaw 30 (S) – Spoink [24] – $900

Pokémon Colosseum: Phenac CityTo catch them, you will have to snag them. But be careful: you can only snag one of these three Pokémon! If you have already played Pokémon on the Game Boy (which seems obvious), you are already used to a three-way choice of Pokémon like this one, but in a different form. (normally the Pokémon are babies at level 5, whereas these are the second-stage evolutions of the starter Pokémon from the Gold and Silver versions)

Anyway, once you have snagged a Pokémon, you can leave the city. Rui advises you to go and check out the Construction Site mentioned by the 3 Peons…

Before leaving the city, you can visit the trainer training school (level 2 of the city, in the center), where the Professor on the left will update your P*DA (Pokémon Digital Assistant) into a Pokédex with all the Pokémon you have encountered…

Incidentally, the Pokédex is rather incomplete… But that is not a problem for now!

The Construction Site

Unfortunately, it is a mandatory passage to the rest of the game… Take a look around, and you will notice that it is impossible to do anything.

There is only one solution: head off to another town… Pyrite Town seems like a good place, especially since it has just been unlocked.

=> Leave the construction site and head for Pyrite Town. (to the left on the map)

Pokémon Colosseum: Pyrite Town (screenshot 2)Finally, a place where something REALLY happens!

Here are the places you can find in Pyrite Town:A Colosseum, the Fortune Teller’s House, Duking’s Room, the Pyrite Building, the Generator Mill, and the police station.

As you arrive, you see a police officer talking with a local thug, Eagun. You can learn more at the police station (including the name of Team Snagem’s boss: Gonzap), but that is not the main point.

Pokémon Colosseum: Pyrite Town (screenshot 3)In the streets, you can battle a few trainers who own the following Pokémon:
Misdreavus, Slugma, Noctowl, Flaaffy, Skiploom, Quagsire.

Once you have beaten a few of these trainers, things will follow one another and get a bit complicated:
– Cross the bridge north of the town
– Enter the Colosseum
– Talk to the two people there and heal your Pokémon. You are told that a competition is already taking place… And you are also told to go and see EAGUN, whom you saw at the entrance to the town, and he is still there.
– Go back to the town entrance to see Eagun
– Battle him…

Eagun – Furret [33] (S) – Ralts [29] – Seedot [29] – Machop [29] – $528

Once Eagun is beaten, you see the leader of Team Cipher (whom you met earlier in front of the Mayor’s house in Phenac City) talking to the guy dressed in “Disco” style, Miror B…. Both of them have secret plans concerning Shadow Pokémon… They want to make them even more evil: the task is now going to be very tough for you!

Now, go to the Duking’s room (he is the one who runs the town’s Colosseum – you will easily recognize his room: a purple G is written on it). Behind the young boy in the room, you notice a bookcase. “Talk” to the bookcase and it reveals a secret passage. (!!!)

Inside the secret room, some children tell you about a boy called Silva… Leave this secret room, and you see Silva talking to Duking!
He claims that the members of Team Cipher, and more precisely Miror B., are ready to commit atrocious acts concerning Shadow Pokémon, and that it all starts here, in Pyrite Town…
Duking will not hear any of it.

Anyway, now head to the house to the left of the bridge (north of Pyrite Town), which is a Generator Mill, and you see a technician come out and fall to the ground.

Inside, another technician tells you that it was Silva who broke into the Generator Mill and stole one of the parts… And that the town’s Colosseum is now out of order, due to a generator failure…

Go back to Duking’s Room, where he is thinking about what Silva said (“what if it were true?…”).

Enter the secret room: one of the children is horrified; someone has stolen his Plusle.

This time, it is a big investigation into the various plans of Team Cipher and Team Snagem that you will have to carry out… And the best place to start your investigation is the famous, so “quiet” Construction Site .
