Pokémon Colosseum tells a darker story than the Game Boy games, carried by a hero with a murky past and a colorful gallery of villains. Here is who’s who, with the teams of the main opponents.
The heroes
Wes
A former member of Team Snagem, Wes opens the game by blowing up his accomplices’ hideout and running off with the Snag Machine. He travels by motorbike with his two Pokémon, Espeon and Umbreon. The player can rename him: in our 2004 walkthrough, he was called Might, the author’s nickname.
Rui
Wes meets her in Phenac City, just as two thugs are about to kidnap her. Rui has a gift: she can see the aura of Shadow Pokémon. She accompanies Wes throughout the adventure and warns him as soon as a Shadow Pokémon enters a battle. Her grandfather, Es Cade, lives in Agate Village, near the Relic Stone.
Team Cipher
Team Cipher closes Pokémon’s hearts to turn them into fighting machines, then distributes them to the Trainers of Orre through its admins. Its grand project is Realgam Tower, from which it plans to spread Shadow Pokémon on a massive scale.
Miror B.
The first admin, who rules over Pyrite Town with his henchmen. Eccentric, he battles in Pyrite Cave with a Shadow Sudowoodo and a team of dancing Ludicolo.
