Pokémon France followed HeartGold and SoulSilver from the moment they were announced, in 2009, and devoted a full section to the game, expanded until 2015. This page presents and links to our articles from the time.

The wait (2009-2010)

The remakes were announced in Japan in spring 2009 and released there on 12 September. In September we published a preview of “Cœur d’Or and Âme d’Argent”, the name everyone called them back then, and then followed the announcements up to the confirmation of the European release on 26 March 2010.

The 2010 section

In February 2010, a few weeks before the French release, the section opened with a series of entries: the hero and the rival, Professor Elm, Team Rocket, locations such as the Whirl Islands, the Ruins of Alpha or Mt. Silver, and the new features, from the Pokéwalker to Apricorns.

The guides (2012-2015)

The section was then expanded with practical guides: the casinos, Red, the roaming legendaries, the list of TMs and HMs, the Johto Gym Leaders and the Kanto ones, the Elite Four, the exclusive Pokémon and the Pokéwalker-exclusive Pokémon.

The end of online services

In 2014, we announced the end of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection on 20 May, which shut down the Global Terminal and online battles in DS games. That same year, the game’s soundtrack arrived on iTunes.
