Pokémon TCG Pocket is entirely free. It does, however, offer a subscription, the Premium Pass, and a paid currency, Poké Gold. Here is what they actually bring, so you can decide with full knowledge.

The Premium Pass

Plan
monthly subscription, no commitment
Indicative price
around €10 per month (depending on the platform)
Main bonus
one extra pack every day
Other perks
premium missions, Premium Tickets, monthly promo
Subscribers open one more pack per day, get access to premium missions (logging in, openings, collection by type) and earn Premium Tickets. These tickets can be exchanged for accessories and exclusive promo cards. Each month, a promo card rewards logging in; examples in Series A were Mewtwo, Moltres ex, Darkrai ex or Entei ex.
Pros

Who is it for?

The daily player who wants to complete collections faster and collect the monthly promos. Over a month, the extra daily pack adds up to about thirty packs.

Cons

Not essential

No playable card is permanently reserved for subscribers. A regular free player builds the same decks, with a bit more patience.

Poké Gold

Poké Gold is bought in bundles in the shop. It is used to speed up the Pack Stamina recharge and to buy accessories or bundle offers. According to Serebii, the European bundles range from 25 Poké Gold for €4.99 to 500 Poké Gold for €99.99.
