Wonder Pick is one of the most original ideas in Pokémon TCG Pocket: it lets you grab a card from a booster pack opened by another player, without taking anything away from them. Used well, it is a steady source of rare cards; used badly, it drains your stamina on cards you do not need.
How it works
The Wonder Pick screen shows booster packs recently opened by your friends and by other players. For each one, you can see the five cards that were pulled. If you start a pick, the cards are flipped over and shuffled, and you choose one blindly: you therefore have a one in five chance of getting the card you are after.
The player who opened the pack loses nothing: Wonder Pick creates a copy for you.
Wonder Stamina and the cost
Every pick uses up Wonder Stamina, shown as hearts, which recharges over time. Wonder Hourglasses cut the waiting time by one hour. The cost depends on the rarest card in the pack on offer.| Rarest card in the pack | Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 heart | |
| 2 hearts | |
| 3 hearts | |
| 4 hearts |

Special event picks
The Chansey pick
During certain events, a special pick marked with a Chansey can appear at random for a limited time. It contains the event’s promo cards: the game lets you know on the home screen when it is available.
The bonus pick
Bonus picks cost no stamina at all. They offer a card and items such as Wonder Hourglasses or event shop tickets. They come back regularly during Wonder Pick events.
Catching up on a missed pick
The picks on offer are refreshed regularly. If an interesting pack has disappeared, the catch-up feature (a clock at the top of the screen) lets you find recently expired picks, within certain limits. Our tips
- Add active friends: the packs they open show up among your Wonder Picks, alongside those of other players.
- Save stamina for events: Chansey picks are time-limited and give promos you cannot find anywhere else.
- Favor “double” packs: two useful cards out of five means a 40% chance instead of 20%.
- Do not waste hearts on ♦: a pack with no rare card costs little, but gives back even less.
