Launched in March 2025, Ranked Matches replaced the old Emblem Events as Pokémon TCG Pocket’s main competitive mode. Each season, you climb from rank to rank against players of your level, with an emblem as a reward based on your final standing.

  • 5ranks, from Beginner to Master Ball
  • 4tiers in each rank
  • +10points per win
  • Top 1,000the summit of the Master Ball rank

The ranks

You start at the Beginner rank, then climb through the Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball and finally Master Ball ranks. Each rank has four tiers. Too many losses can drop you back down.

Win streaks

Up to the Great Ball rank, chaining wins earns extra points: +3 points on the second consecutive win, +6 on the third, +9 on the fourth and +12 from the fifth onward. It is the fastest way to leave the early ranks.

The Master Ball rank

Once you reach the Master Ball rank, your position depends on the number of players with more points than you. The tiers become leaderboards: beyond Top 10,000, Top 10,000, Top 5,000 and Top 1,000. Each loss costs 10 points there: the slightest losing streak is costly.

Seasons

A season accompanies each new expansion and generally lasts two to four weeks. Its name uses the expansion’s code: season B4a for Team Rocket’s Ambition (September 15 to 29, 2026), then season B4b SP for Deluxe Pack: Mega, in October 2026.

Preparing your deck for ranked

  1. Choose a consistent deck: a single Energy type, solid Basic Pokémon, two Professor’s Research and two Poké Ball.
  2. Have an answer to Mega Pokémon ex: a damage boost (Giovanni, Red, Korrina) to knock them out before they strike.
  3. Test in friendly battles before risking your points.
  4. Adapt to the season: each expansion brings new decks. Our guide to archetypes helps you recognize them.
