The game
Is Pokémon Shuffle free?
Yes. The game is free to download and play; jewels, which are used to buy hearts and coins, are available for purchase. You can finish most of the game without paying.
Does the game still work?
On mobile, yes: Pokémon Shuffle Mobile is still running on iOS and Android, with maintenance still carried out in June 2026. On Nintendo 3DS, login bonuses, ranked stages and the download of new special stages ended on March 31, 2023; the stages already on the system remain playable.
Is there anything new still coming?
No. The game has not received any new Pokémon or stages since 2018. Special stages come back on rotation.
How many stages are there?
700 regular stages spread across 23 areas, 53 EX stages and 700 UX stages, plus the special stages. See the stage-by-stage breakdown.
How many Pokémon can you catch?
The game’s Pokédex has 802 entries, and over a thousand if you count forms, Wink Pokémon and Mega Evolutions. See our Pokémon list.
Playing
How long does it take to recover a heart?
Thirty minutes per heart, up to five hearts. Hearts that are earned or bought are added to a separate counter.
How do you Mega Evolve?
You need to own the Pokémon and its Mega Stone, put it at the head of the team and line it up enough times to fill its Mega Gauge. See Mega Evolutions.
How do you unlock EX stages?
By earning S ranks in the regular stages, that is, by winning with enough moves left. The first EX stage requires 12, the last one 700. See EX Stages.
How do you unlock UX stages?
By completing stage 700 and totaling 500 S ranks in the regular stages. See UX Stages.
How do you improve your catch chances?
Win with as many moves left as possible, and use a Great Ball if you fail: it doubles the catch chance. See Mechanics and Damage.
How do you go past level 10?
With the Raise Max Level item, which raises a Pokémon’s maximum level. Depending on the species, a Pokémon can receive 5, 10, 15 or 20.
What is a Pokémon’s skill for?
It can trigger on the first link of the turn: extra damage, delayed disruptions, cleared blocks… See Skills.
Events and rewards
What is the Daily Pokémon?
A series of five Pokémon, each offered for one day, from Monday to Friday. See Special Stages.
Where can you catch the legendary Pokémon?
Some are in the regular stages (Deoxys, Rayquaza, Hoopa Unbound, shiny Yveltal and Xerneas, Primal Kyogre…), others in the EX stages, and most in the special stages, which come back on rotation.
Do the passwords still work?
No, they were valid for a limited time in 2015 and 2016. See Progression and Rewards.
Can you transfer your Pokémon to other games?
No. Shuffle Pokémon stay in the game; they are not compatible with Pokémon HOME.
