EX Stages are the timed challenges of Pokémon Shuffle. There are 53 of them, from Absol in EX stage 1 to Primal Groudon in EX stage 53. They feature powerful Pokémon, including many legendaries, and unlock as you accumulate S Ranks in the normal stages. This page explains their rules and details each one.

The Time +10 item, reserved for timed stages.

The rules

  • No move limit: you play as much as you like, and you can even move Pokémon while others are disappearing.
  • A time limit, usually one minute, sometimes two minutes or only thirty seconds.
  • Catching depends on the time left: every three-second block you leave unused increases the catch chance.
  • The S Rank is earned by finishing with a minimum amount of time left, shown in the table.
  • Unlocking: each EX stage requires a number of S Ranks earned in the normal stages, from 12 for the first ones to 700 for Primal Groudon.

The list of EX stages

The first twenty EX stages existed at the game’s launch; the following ones came with the addition of the new zones. The “Added” column gives the date of arrival on Nintendo 3DS when the stage was added or replaced.
