Two things weigh on every Pokémon Shuffle battle: the items you buy before the match to help you, and the disruptions the opponent places on the board to get in your way. This page details their effects and prices, and the best way to use them or get rid of them.
Battle items
Before each stage, you can buy items with coins. They only last for the current match. Prices differ between the Nintendo 3DS and the mobile version.
| Item | Effect | Price (3DS) | Price (mobile) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moves +5 | Gives five extra moves. Has no influence on the catch gauge. | 800 | 1000 |
| Time +10 | Gives ten extra seconds. Has no influence on the catch gauge. | 800 | 1000 |
| Exp. ×1.5 | Gives 50% more experience at the end of the stage. | 300 | 800 |
| Mega Start | Lets you Mega Evolve as soon as the stage begins. | 2000 | 2500 |
| Complexity -1 | The board will contain one fewer Pokémon species, or some disruptions will be removed. | 9000 | 9500 |
| Disruption Delay | Delays the launch of the opponent’s disruptions. | 1500 | 2000 |
| Attack Power ↑ | Doubles the power of attacks. | 3000 | 5000 |
- Moves +5 and Time +10 do not change the catch chance: the moves or seconds they add don’t count as remaining moves.
- Complexity -1 is the most expensive but the most powerful: with one fewer species, combos chain together easily. It can’t be used in stages with three Pokémon.
- Mega Start saves precious moves in short stages.
If a catch fails, a Great Ball doubles the catch chance (2,500 coins on 3DS, 3,500 on mobile).

Disruptions
The opponent gets in the way of your progress at regular intervals. A counter shown on the top screen often indicates the number of moves before its next attack.
| Disruption | Effect | How to get rid of it | Useful skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enemy Pokémon appearing | Its type is usually disadvantageous. | Make links with these Pokémon to clear them normally. | Eject, Eject+ |
| Barrier | An ice cube appears around certain Pokémon. As long as the space is frozen, the Pokémon can neither be moved nor fall. | Making a link with this Pokémon once frees it. The Pokémon does not disappear when freed but can be moved again or cleared on the next link. | Barrier Bash, Barrier Bash+, Anti-Disruption, Anti-Disruption+ |
| Rock | A space is replaced by a wooden cube. The contents of the space disappear permanently to make way for the rock. | A link made in an adjacent space (up, down, left, right) makes it disappear immediately, emptying the space. | Rock Break, Rock Break+, Anti-Disruption, Anti-Disruption+, Swap, Swap+, Swap++ |
| Unbreakable Block | A space is replaced by a stone cube. The contents of the space disappear permanently to make way for the block. | Blocks have a predetermined lifespan and disappear on their own after five turns. | Block Smash, Block Smash+, Anti-Disruption, Anti-Disruption+, Swap, Swap+, Swap++ |
| Dark Clouds | These are opaque clouds that hide most of the contents of the space. Pokémon can sometimes be recognized despite the cloud. Pokémon can be moved from or to a cloud, which itself does not move. | — | Cloud Clear, Cloud Clear+, Cloud Clear++, Anti-Disruption, Anti-Disruption+ |
