The end credits of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are only a stage. The post-game is one of the richest in the series: a brand-new story episode against Team Rainbow Rocket, almost all of the legendary Pokémon to catch, battle facilities, the hunt for stickers and many side quests. This page lists everything left to do once you are champion, in a logical order, and links to our detailed guides.

Giovanni’s Team Rainbow Rocket brings together the bosses of the organizations from earlier regions.

1. Defend your title

As the first champion of the Alola Pokémon League, you can return to it as often as you like. After each new victory against the Elite Four, a randomly chosen challenger comes to take on the title: Professor Kukui, a rock-singing Dragon-type trainer from another region, Gladion, Hau, Plumeria, Sophocles, the Youngster you met on Route 1, or Hapu. Their teams, stronger than the first time around, are detailed in The post-League challengers.

2. Finish the story: Episode RR

Giovanni, back at the head of Team Rainbow Rocket.

Shortly after the League, a new episode begins at Festival Plaza: Team Rainbow Rocket seizes Aether Paradise and turns it into Team Rocket’s Castle. Giovanni has gathered Maxie, Archie, Cyrus, Lysandre and Ghetsis there, each with their legendary Pokémon and the atmosphere of their original games. The bosses field their legendary Pokémon: prepare a strong and varied team. The step-by-step walkthrough is in chapter 14 of our walkthrough.

3. Catch the legendary Pokémon

This is the big chunk of the post-game. In order:

  1. Solgaleo or Lunala on Mahalo Trail, with Lillie.
  2. The four Tapus in their ruins, on each island.
  3. Zygarde in Resolution Cave, on Poni Island.
  4. The second Cosmog via the inverted world.
  5. The legendary Pokémon from other regions, more than forty in total, behind the coloured wormholes of the Ultra Warp Ride.

Locations, levels and conditions are all gathered on our page All the legendary Pokémon in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. How the Ultra Warp Ride works, including the probabilities for ring portals, is explained on the Ultra Wormhole page.

4. The Ultra Recon Squad missions

After the League, the Ultra Recon Squad calls on you again. At Poni Grove, several new Ultra Beasts are causing havoc: Blacephalon in Ultra Sun, Stakataka in Ultra Moon. Hau catches one for the Ultra Recon Squad’s research, and you can catch the other two with the Ultra Balls provided. The seven Ultra Beasts from Sun and Moon, meanwhile, are found behind the white wormholes. For the story and the characters, see The Ultra Recon Squad and The Ultra Beasts.

5. The battle facilities

The Battle Agency, at Festival Plaza, and its battles with borrowed Pokémon.

The Battle Tree is also the essential stop for Mega Stones: most of them are exchanged there for BP. Our article The Mega Stones gives the location of each one.

6. The Totem Stickers

One hundred stickers, small golden decals, are hidden across Alola. Samson Oak, on the beach at Heahea City, exchanges sticker milestones for Totem Pokémon, which are of exceptional size:

The location of each sticker, island by island, is in The Totem Stickers.

7. Complete the Pokédex

The regional Pokédex of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon has 403 Pokémon, compared with 302 in Sun and Moon. Several tools make the job easier:

Our island-by-island Pokédexes (Melemele Island, Akala Island, Ula’ula Island, Poni Island) show where to find each species. Once the Alola Pokédex is complete, the director of Game Freak, in Heahea City, gives you the Shiny Charm, which increases the probability of encountering shiny Pokémon.

8. Side activities

Mantine Surf links the beaches of the four islands.
  • Mantine Surf: the new Ride Pokémon lets you surf from one beach to another and earns BP depending on the tricks you perform.
  • The Alola Photo Club: photo sessions with your Pokémon, backdrops and poses.
  • Poké Pelago: five islets to gather beans, grow berries and train the Pokémon in your boxes.
  • Festival Plaza: missions, shops and online trades.
  • The side quests and the daily events.
  • Hyper Training, to maximize the individual stats of your level 100 Pokémon.
  1. Catch Solgaleo or Lunala, then play Episode RR.
  2. Catch the Tapus, Zygarde and the second Cosmog.
  3. Do the Ultra Recon Squad missions at Poni Grove.
  4. Launch the Ultra Warp Ride for the legendary Pokémon from other regions, arranging the necessary trades.
  5. Build a team for the Battle Tree and the Battle Agency.
  6. Finish the stickers and the Pokédex, then hunt shiny Pokémon with the Shiny Charm.
