Aiming for Rank A

Who is Cendro?

First stop: the Beladonis Agency. Emma is willing to help you… if you beat her. This is no longer the small battle against her Mareep: she now fields a full team.

Emma sends you to the Pokémon Lab: Mable, a former member of Team Flare, knows Cendro’s nickname well, “The Gray One”. She explains that you have to go through a Neo Café: these cafés serve as a cover for Neo Team Flare. Order a qualifier match there, and Cendro sets you a meeting.

At the appointed place, it is Cendrie, his right-hand woman, who awaits you and battles you. Once she’s beaten, she lets you into the abandoned café: the old Café Lysandre, which players of Pokémon X and Y will recognize.

  1. Take the café’s hidden door down into the Lysandre Labs.
  2. Explore the floors in search of the Lift Key.
  3. Take the elevator down to the 3rd basement level and enter the research room.
  4. Head back up to find Cendro at Café Lysandre.

Cendro, a former member of Team Flare, founded Neo Team Flare to clear his name. In the Labs’ archives, he discovered the existence of a second machine, hidden at the top of the Prism Tower and designed by… A.Z. The latter joins you and tells you his story. It’s up to you to decide what happens next.

🙈 The Angel and the Z-A Royale (spoiler)

A thousand years ago, A.Z. built a machine called the Angel inside the Prism Tower, based on the process that had made his Floette immortal. Lysandre’s firing of the ultimate weapon, five years before the game, awakened it: its energy is what draws Pokémon into the city and causes Rogue Mega Evolution. A.Z. had the Z-A Royale created to find a Trainer capable of mastering Mega Evolution… and of Mega Evolving his Floette to control the Angel.
