Location Tips
| All the tips you need to get around every location with ease! |
| Without a doubt THE main pastime the game offers players once the Pokémon League has been beaten.
The Trainer Tower awaits you on Seven Island, in the north.
It has a Pokémon Center, a Poké Mart and a PC. Handy!
Compared with the Battle Tower of the previous versions, it brings many changes.
| Objective: | | Over 8 floors, take on the Trainers inside AGAINST THE CLOCK! The timer stops as soon as you have defeated the Trainer on the roof of the tower. You will need to set the best time possible. |
Here is what you need to know about it:
– You can bring all 6 of your Pokémon into battle.
– Your Bag will be usable since your Pokémon will not be healed after a match (however, you can turn back to the Pokémon Center in the Tower’s lobby).
– You do not earn Exp. Points in the Trainer Tower; it is mainly a place to practise your battle techniques and let off a little steam!
– The opposing Pokémon’s level will be equal to the level of the strongest Pokémon on your team.
– Leaving the tower before finishing the marathon cancels the challenge!
Match table | Course type | Match type | Reward | SINGLE | 1 single battle/floor | UPGRADE | DOUBLE | 1 double battle/floor | DRAGON SCALE | KNOCKOUT | 3 Trainers, 3 Pokémon/floor | METAL COAT | MIXED | Combines SINGLE, DOUBLE and KNOCKOUT. | KING’S ROCK |
Rewards are given only the first time you complete a course.
Your time for each course is displayed on a board in the lobby. Back to top |
| The Sevii Islands are, in a way, secondary areas to explore offered to the player on top of the main quest.
Note that there are 9 islands, all numbered from 1 to 9. Sevii Islands | Island no. | Access | One Island | – As soon as you obtain the Volcano Badge on Cinnabar Island, in order to complete a mini-quest.
– You can return to these islands once you have the National Pokédex.
| Two Island | Three Island | Four Island | – After retrieving the RUBY and obtaining the Rainbow Pass. | Five Island | Six Island | Seven Island | Additional islands | Eight Island | – With Nintendo’s help (events, contests…) | Nine Island |
That covers the overview; now let’s see what these islands have to offer. | | One Island | First of all, this is the island where you can trade Pokémon between your cartridge and Ruby/Sapphire/Colosseum via the Pokémon Network Center… …but only if you have managed to find the RUBY and the SAPPHIRE. Right at the north of the island, near Mt. Ember (past the hot springs area), you will find the Legendary Pokémon Moltres.
| | Two Island | Nothing very interesting to discover here… In the north, a woman will teach a special move to the Pokémon Prof. Oak gave you at the start of the game.
– Bulbasaur: FRENZY PLANT
– Squirtle: HYDRO CANNON
– Charmander: BLAST BURN
East of the village, you will find a small house offering two mini-games designed only for linking with friends. | | Three Island | Nothing special to do here either; explore Berry Forest past the Bond Bridge to the west of the village to catch new Pokémon…
…as well as Three Isle Path, located right at the very start of the island of the same name, since it ends in a small patch of grass full of Dunsparce ! | | Four Island | From this island on, Team Rocket will be present almost everywhere. Indeed, the marathon to retrieve the SAPPHIRE starts here!
To find out how to deal with Team R., read the site’s walkthrough!
My favourite island! The superb music (a remix of the Azalea Town & Blackthorn City theme in G/S/C) is sure to win you over 🙂
First, our friend Blue will come and talk to you about his little life, but without challenging you.
Many people wondered during the adventure where the Day Care that lets Pokémon breed was…
Rest assured, it is waiting for you in the heart of this island’s village! Leave your two Pokémon there and try to get Eggs.
For catching, the Icefall Cave in the northeast of the island offers Sneasel in LeafGreen or Delibird only in FireRed. | | Five Island | To find out how to deal with Team Rocket, read the site’s walkthrough!
Certainly the biggest island, exploring it takes especially long.
In the east lies the famous Rocket Warehouse (a true maze!). On the way there, you will meet many Pokémon from G/S/C, such as Hoppip or Sentret.
Near this warehouse (below it, to the east, reachable with HM03 Surf), you will find a lovely Memorial Pillar as well as a Metal Coat just to the left, toward the bottom.
Right at the north (past the Water Labyrinth) you will find Resort Gorgeous (handy for battles :p).
Head a little east to find the Lost Cave !
It is a kind of maze where you can pick up items at random…
…well, for you, here are the steps: | For a Max Revive: | | Right-up-down-down-right-right. | | For a Lax Incense: | | Right-down. | | For a Sea Incense (thanks to Pierrick Graffion) : | | Right-up-down-up. | | To meet Themis (thanks to Polobelix) | | Right-up-down-down-right-left-down-right-up. | | For a Rare Candy (thanks to Polobelix) | | Right-up-down-down-right-left-down-left. |
Try to carry an Escape Rope, just in case.
Finally, if you want a Togepi, nothing could be easier: it is given to you (the man can be found near the Water Labyrinth).
It is still in its Egg… | | Six Island | To find out how to deal with Team Rocket, read the site’s walkthrough! In the village’s Pokémon Center, you will find little Blue again, who once more offers no battle. It is on this island that you finally manage to find the famous SAPPHIRE, which is very much in demand. It is, in fact, stolen from you at the last moment ^^’
The Dotted Hole containing it is in the south (past the Water Path), and slightly to the east of the map. On the way, you can once again catch Pokémon from G/S/C, such as Yanma or Natu! | | The SAPPHIRE stolen at the last moment! |
Now head north: a large forest called Pattern Bush gives you the chance to meet Heracross, Spinarak and Ledyba! At the exit of this forest, surf a little to reach the Altering Cave, located just past the Outcast Island area.
To be clear: nothing interesting inside! | | Seven Island | This seventh destination in the Sevii region offers players a Trainer Tower, finally using new rules (see above)!
It also offers a rather delightful aspect to exploring the island: the Tanoby Chambers ! More specifically, there are 7 chambers (Monean, Liptoo, Weepth, Dilford, Scufib, Rixy and Viapois) containing Unown, from “A” to “Z”, including the “?” and the “!”. They are located as far south as possible on the map!
I made a little guide on how to catch these Unown, click here! Back to top |

The Two Pokémon Day Cares | A Pokémon Day Care provides basic training for a Pokémon, without the player needing to battle with it.
Some types of Day Care offer a whole other possibility: breeding between a male and a female Pokémon, which leads to the laying of a Pokémon Egg!
In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, there are 2 Day Cares. | | Basic Day Care – Kanto | This Day Care simply trains your Pokémon; you cannot leave more than one at a time. | | Advanced Day Care – Four Island | Here, in addition to training, you can breed two Pokémon to obtain an Egg (if the pairing meets certain conditions). | To add a little spice to the game, the developers always slip in a few puzzles and hidden Pokémon…
In fact, there are indeed 7 Sevii Islands. Navel Rock and Birth Island are not considered part of the Sevii region, but of an independent region of their own.
How do you set foot on the eighth and ninth islands? Only Nintendo, for now, can unlock access to them.
In the meantime, know that these islands simply allow (if you can put it that way ^^) the capture of 3 Legendary Pokémon: Lugia and Ho-Oh on Eight Island and Deoxys on the ninth. | | Navel Rock – Eight Island | This island is accessible by showing the Mystic Ticket to the ferryman, a ticket that may be distributed by Nintendo later on…
I’ll let you admire the pictures 🙂
| | Birth Island (Nine Island) | To visit Birth Island, you will need the Aurora Ticket. Inside, you will find a fine Deoxys at level 30!
Catching advice can be found in the catching tips 🙂 |
| The idea of putting a Game Corner in every Pokémon game is pretty good, isn’t it? Don’t you ever want to play one quick round and end up spinning the reels for 15 minutes? 😉
Anyway, the Rocket Game Corner is in Celadon City. Unlike the other Pokémon game cartridges, you are offered only one single game: the slot machine. To start playing, you need to own the COIN CASE, which is handed to you by a man in a house south of Celadon City. 50 coins cost 1,000 Poké Dollars and you will have to shell out no less than 10,000 Poké Dollars to get 500 coins! It’s not cheap.
Note: at the bottom of the Game Corner, you will find a mini-machine that lets you print Pokémon on your Trainer Card for only 50 Poké Dollars. Nice 🙂
The colours available are: NORMAL, BLACK, PINK, SEPIA. | | Rules & winnings | To find out, nothing could be simpler: press the RIGHT button on your console, and everything is explained 🙂
All that’s left is to be lucky… | | Prizes | Got lots of coins? Go and spend them!
The little shop just to the right of the Game Corner is made for that.
The 3 attendants are entirely at your disposal…
…for sales only, mind you! xD Back to top |
