XD adds plenty of battle activities outside the story: the Holodisks, Battle Bingo and, after the credits, the Orre Colosseum. Here is how each one works.

The Holodisks

When you arrive in Phenac City, a lady gives you the Holodisk Case. The fifty Holodisks, hidden all over Orre, each contain a virtual battle with set rules, to be played in the right-hand room of Phenac Stadium. Each disk completed for the first time earns an item; all fifty earn 15,000 Poké Coupons. Full list: the Holodisks.

The Holodisk Case, given in Phenac City.

Battle Bingo

In the left-hand room of Phenac Stadium, Battle Bingo costs 500 Poké Dollars per game. Each of the eleven cards has sixteen squares: thirteen hide a Pokémon of a given type, three a bonus. Start from one square, defeat or snag its Pokémon, then move on to a neighboring square (not diagonally). The goal is to clear the whole card.

The Orre Colosseum

Opened by Ardos after the credits, northwest of Pyrite Town, on the site of the colosseum from Pokémon Colosseum, it recaptures the spirit of Colosseum’s Battle Mode:

  • series of four battles, choosing four Pokémon out of six, healed between each battle;
  • opponents that match the level of your best Pokémon;
  • no repeating the same Pokémon, nor the same held item;
  • major Legendary Pokémon (Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys) banned.

The final opponents of each series are, in order: Lovrina, Snattle, Gorigan, Chobin and his robotic Groudon, Gonzap, Ardos and Eldes. Each final victory earns a title, a TM and Poké Coupons.
