You start Pokémon XD with a very traditional… choice of the hero’s name. Of course, no hero name is imposed; you can even enter your own name.
Prologue, part 1: The Abduction of the S.S. Libra
It all begins with a short cutscene. A liner, the S.S. Libra, is sailing along peacefully. Suddenly, a gigantic Pokémon similar to Lugia flies over the ship, surrounded by helicopters. Using a powerful beam, they lift the ship, throwing the captain and his assistant overboard… Meanwhile, the Libra slowly drifts away…
Prologue, part 2: The Simulator
You thus land in a battle, far from all this ship business, in a sunny stadium. The battle pits Salamence against Metagross.
Two Earthquake attacks are enough to sweep your opponent away.
