Once the credits have rolled, the adventure goes on: there is one last Shadow Pokémon to catch, a Colosseum to conquer, a strange affair of Pokémon that have lost their voices and, above all, XD001 to purify.
Es Cade’s Challenge
You wake up in your room. Outside, Es Cade, Agate Village’s elder, is waiting for you with a fearsome battle: two Pichu (45), two Pikachu (50) and two Raichu (55), all of which know Volt Tackle. Once you beat him, he invites you to the Orre Colosseum, which he has just opened to the north-west of Pyrite Town, where Under Colosseum used to stand.
Miror B. and the Last Shadow Pokémon
The Disco Radar picks up Miror B. at Gateon Port. Climb to the top of the lighthouse: he is dancing there with his Ludicolo and battles you with five Ludicolo (57) and the Shadow Dragonite (55) he stole from the Cipher Key Lair. Catch this 83rd Shadow Pokémon. Miror B. then discovers the antenna hidden in his afro, destroys your radar and leaves the stage for good.
| No. | Pokémon | Lv. | Where | Trainer | Shadow moves | Rediscovered move |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 83 | Dragonite | 55 | Top of the Gateon Port lighthouse | Wanderer Miror B. | Shadow Rush, Shadow Storm | Heal Bell |
The Orre Colosseum
The Orre Colosseum revives the formula of the Battle Mode from Colosseum: series of four battles against opponents who match the level of your strongest Pokémon. No duplicates are allowed on your team or in held items, and the major legendary Pokémon are banned. The final opponents of each series are, in order, Lovrina, Snattle, Gorigan, Chobin and his Robo Groudon, Gonzap, Ardos and Eldes. For the story, only the victory over Lovrina is required. Details in the Orre Colosseum.
The Silent Pokémon of Agate Village
After you beat Lovrina, an urgent message from Es Cade’s wife calls you to Agate Village: the village’s Pokémon have lost their voices. They all wear a translator made by Dr. Kaminko, sold without his consent. Go back and forth between Agate Village and Dr. Kaminko’s Mansion to get the voice capsules that give them their cries back, then use a quiz machine for those in Gateon Port, Phenac City and Pyrite Town. The last Pokémon, a Wobbuffet, only regains its voice thanks to its bond with its Trainer. Es Cade’s wife thanks you with a Lucky Egg.
Facing Greevil Again
You can return to Citadark Isle to battle Greevil as many times as you like, notably to recatch a Shadow Pokémon you missed. His team changes: Manectric, Swellow, Starmie, Granbull, Altaria and Aerodactyl, all at level 50.
Purifying XD001
XD001 cannot be purified by battling or with scents. The only method is to bring all nine Purification Chambers to maximum tempo, each holding four Pokémon whose types follow one another clockwise, each being effective against the next. Once every chamber is at maximum, place XD001 in one of them: it is purified instantly. It is all explained in XD001, the Shadow Lugia.
The True Ending
If you have caught and purified all 83 Shadow Pokémon, an extra scene is added at the end: Michael puts the Snag Machine back on the lab desk, his mission accomplished. To track your progress, see the list of Shadow Pokémon.
