The big new feature of XD compared with Colosseum: you can catch wild Pokémon. They only appear in three places, the Poké Spots, and only if you leave food there.

How it works

  1. Duking gives you the Poké Spot Screen, in the P★DA, when you pass through Pyrite Town.
  2. Place a Poké Snack on the pedestal of a Poké Spot.
  3. Carry on with your journey. A symbol appears when a Pokémon arrives: check the P★DA screen to see which of the three Poké Spots is active.
  4. Hurry back and battle the wild Pokémon to catch it.

The rare Pokémon

Duking asks you to show him the three rarest Pokémon of the Poké Spots: Surskit, Wooper and Trapinch. They only appear after several Poké Snacks, with a lot of patience.

Bonsly

The ONBS girl’s lost Bonsly starts appearing at random in the Poké Spots after fleeing from the Libra. Approach it slowly to return it to its Trainer. Like Munchlax, it is one of the Generation IV Pokémon previewed in XD, and it cannot be caught.
