East of Lilycove City, an island is home to Mossdeep City, the city of the space center. Its Gym Leaders are two telepathic twins who always battle together. This is also where Steven Stone will teach you to explore the ocean floor.

🚀Mossdeep City
In town, a fisherman in the house to the north gives you the Super Rod, the best rod in the game. Near Steven Stone’s house, a boy gives you a King’s Rock, which sometimes makes the opponent flinch. The Mossdeep Space Center is preparing a rocket launch.

Lunatone and Solrock are Rock and Psychic: they fear Water, Grass, Bug, Ghost, Dark and Steel. Surf is perfect: in a Double Battle, it hits both opponents at once. Be careful, their Levitate ability makes them immune to Ground attacks (Earthquake is useless). Solrock uses Sunny Day then Solar Beam: take it out first. Lunatone puts you to sleep with Hypnosis.
In Emerald, Tate and Liza field four Pokémon (Claydol, Solrock, Lunatone, Xatu). The Gym has twelve Trainers.

Pay a visit to Steven Stone at his house in Mossdeep City: he gives you HM08 Dive. In the dark water areas, use it to descend and explore the ocean floor. The submarine stolen by the Team went in that direction, toward Route 128.
In Emerald, Team Magma attacks the Space Center first to steal the rocket’s fuel. You drive them off in a Double Battle alongside Steven Stone, who gives you Dive right afterward.
