After Fortree City, the road leads east to the coast: the Safari Zone, then Lilycove City, home of the big department store and the Master Rank Contests. Out at sea stands Mt. Pyre, a graveyard of Pokémon where the enemy team will steal an ancestral treasure.

🌿Routes 120 and 121

Route 120, where you obtained the Devon Scope, is home to the rare Absol. On a small island, it also hides the Ancient Tomb: you will need it much later. Route 121 leads to the coast, the Safari Zone and Lilycove City.

🦒The Hoenn Safari Zone

As in Kanto, you catch Pokémon there with Safari Balls, without battling. The northern and eastern areas require the Acro Bike or the Mach Bike. It is the ideal place to catch Pokémon from other regions that can’t be found anywhere else in Hoenn: Girafarig, Phanpy, Natu, Rhyhorn, Heracross, Doduo and even Pikachu.

🛍️Lilycove City

Lilycove City is Hoenn’s big shopping city:

  1. The Lilycove Department Store sells all the TMs, healing items and decorations for your Secret Base.
  2. The Contest Hall hosts the Master Rank Contests, the most prestigious ones.
  3. The Move Deleter’s House makes your Pokémon forget any move, including HMs.
  4. In the house above the beach, a man gives you TM44 Rest.

Our strategy

Last battle against your rival, with four Pokémon. Their starter, at level 34, is the toughest: a Pokémon with the type advantage settles the matter.

🪦Mt. Pyre

Surf south from Lilycove City (Route 122) to Mt. Pyre. The interior is a graveyard where Trainers come to pay their respects, and Ghost Pokémon (Shuppet, Duskull) are plentiful there. Climb to the summit from the outside: the enemy team is up there.

At the summit, an elderly couple guards two sacred orbs that have the power to control Groudon and Kyogre. The Team leader seizes one of them and flees. The old woman entrusts the other to you, for fear it will be stolen in turn.

Ruby

In Ruby, Maxie steals the Blue Orb and you receive the Red Orb.

Sapphire

In Sapphire, Archie steals the Red Orb and you receive the Blue Orb.

Emerald

In Emerald, both leaders each steal an orb. The old woman gives you the Magma Emblem, which opens the Team Magma Hideout at Jagged Pass.
