🗿The Sealed Chamber and the three Regi

It all begins under the sea. On Route 134, between Pacifidlog Town and Slateport City, dive in the dark-water area: a passage leads to the Sealed Chamber, a cave covered in Braille inscriptions.

  1. In the first room, stand facing the inscription at the back and use Dig: a passage opens into the inner room.
  2. Prepare your team: Relicanth in the lead position and Wailord in the last (sixth) position.
  3. Read the inscription in the inner room: the ground shakes, and the three tombs of Hoenn have just opened.

The three colossi each wait in their own tomb, at level 40. To open the chamber, read the inscription at the back, then solve the riddle, which differs between Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald.

  • RegirockNo. 40Rock

Desert Ruins, in the heart of the Route 111 desert (the Go-Goggles are essential to get around there).

  • RegiceNo. 40Ice

Island Cave, on the little islet on Route 105, south of Petalburg City.

  • RegisteelNo. 40Steel

Ancient Tomb, on Route 120, south of Fortree City.

Ruby · Sapphire

Regirock: from the inscription, take two steps right then two steps down and use Strength.
Regice: read the inscription then wait two minutes without moving.
Registeel: stand in the exact center of the room and use Fly.

Emerald

Regirock: from the inscription, take two steps left then two steps down and use Rock Smash.
Regice: walk all the way around the room, hugging the walls.
Registeel: stand in the exact center of the room and use Flash.

💫Latios and Latias, the Eon duo

After the Hall of Fame, a legendary Pokémon starts roaming freely around Hoenn. It is a roaming Pokémon: it changes route every time you do, and flees on the very first turn of battle.

Ruby

In Ruby, it is Latios that roams Hoenn, at level 40.

Sapphire

In Sapphire, it is Latias that roams Hoenn, at level 40.

Emerald

In Emerald, go home after the League: your mother is watching a report about a mysterious Pokémon and asks you what color it was. Answer red to make Latias appear, or blue for Latios.

The other member of the duo used to be found on Southern Island, reachable from Lilycove City’s harbor with the Eon Ticket, an item handed out at official events back in the day. It waits for you there at level 50, holding a Soul Dew.

🐉Rayquaza at the top of the Sky Pillar

The Sky Pillar rises on Route 131, east of Pacifidlog Town. You enter through a cave at the foot of the tower. On the upper floors, the ground is cracked: only the Mach Bike lets you cross fast enough not to fall. If you fall, you land on the floor below.

Ruby · Sapphire

In Ruby and Sapphire, the tower only opens after you defeat the Elite Four. At the top, Rayquaza sleeps at level 70.

Emerald

In Emerald, you have already climbed the tower to awaken Rayquaza during the Sootopolis City crisis (step 14). After the League, it returns to rest at the summit: you can finally battle it, at level 70.

  • RayquazaNo. 70DragonFlying

Dragon and Flying: it takes quadruple damage from Ice, and double from Rock and Dragon. Its Air Lock ability cancels the effects of weather.

🌋Groudon and Kyogre

Ruby · Sapphire

In Ruby and Sapphire, you met Groudon (Ruby) or Kyogre (Sapphire) in the Cave of Origin, at level 45 (step 14). If you made it faint, it is lost. The other titan does not exist in your version: you will have to get it through a trade.

Emerald

In Emerald, both titans have taken refuge in caves that appear depending on the weather. Head to the Weather Institute (Route 119) and talk to the scientist on the first floor, in front of his computer:
• drought points to the Terra Cave and Groudon, on Route 114, 115, 116 or 118;
• torrential rain points to the Marine Cave and Kyogre, under Route 105, 125, 127 or 129 (Dive required).
The location changes every time you leave the room. Once one of the titans has been caught or defeated, the second cave appears in turn.

  • GroudonNo. 70Ground

Emerald: Terra Cave, level 70. Its Drought ability powers up Fire moves: don't count on Water-types to last.

  • KyogreNo. 70Water

Emerald: Marine Cave, level 70. Its Drizzle ability brings on rain: a Nest Ball is particularly effective here.

✨Event legendaries

Some mythical Pokémon could only be reached with items handed out at official events. Those distributions ended long ago, but here is where they were hiding. You always set sail from Lilycove City’s harbor.

Birth Island

Solve the glowing triangle puzzle to make Deoxys appear, at level 30.

Emerald · MysticTicket

Navel Rock

At the summit and in the deepest depths of this rock, Ho-Oh and Lugia await, both at level 70.

Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald · Eon Ticket

Southern Island

The other member of the Eon duo, Latias or Latios, at level 50.
