🚪The Secret Entrance
At the back of the casino, a Rocket Grunt stands guard in front of a poster. Defeat him (Raticate and Zubat), then examine the poster: a hidden switch opens a staircase to B1F. Welcome to the Rocket Hideout.
🌀Inside the Rocket Hideout
The hideout has four basement floors (B1F to B4F). B2F and B3F are paved with arrow tiles that make you slide until you hit an obstacle: look carefully at the direction of each arrow before stepping on one. The elevator only works with the Lift Key, which a Grunt on B4F drops once defeated (take the stairs down to reach him). With the key, take the elevator back down to B4F to reach Giovanni’s office.
The hideout is full of items, including three TMs (Razor Wind, Horn Drill and Double-Edge), a Moon Stone, an HP Up and an Iron.

Giovanni
📍 Rocket Hideout, B4FGroundOnix and Rhyhorn fear Water and Grass: Bubble Beam, Water Gun or Mega Drain take them down very quickly. Kangaskhan, at Lv. 29, is the toughest: its Comet Punch hits several times and Rage raises its Attack. A Fighting Pokémon or a good special attacker takes it down before it gets out of control.
In Yellow, Jessie and James stand guard at the back of the hideout with Koffing, Meowth and Ekans, and Giovanni’s Kangaskhan is replaced by a Persian. You hardly run into any Grunts in the corridors.
