The Indigo Plateau, home of the Pokémon League. Behind its doors, the Elite Four fights back to back without a break: four elite Trainers, then the Champion. The first two, Lorelei and Bruno, test the diversity of your team.

Objective
Defeat Lorelei (Ice) and Bruno (Fighting)
Rule
no Pokémon Center between battles
Recommended level
55 and up
What to bring
Hyper Potions, Revives, Full Heals

🏛️Before you go in

The entrance building at the Indigo Plateau houses a Pokémon Center and a Poké Mart: this is your last chance to prepare. Once the first battle begins, there’s no turning back: you’ll fight all five duels in a row. You can, however, use your items freely between battles. If you lose, you return to the Pokémon Center… and you’ll have to start over from Lorelei.

  1. A team of six Pokémon at level 55 or higher, with varied types.
  2. At least 10 Hyper Potions or Max Potions, and 5 Revives.
  3. A few Full Heals against sleep, confusion and poison.
  4. An Electric-type Pokémon, a Psychic-type Pokémon and a Pokémon that knows Ice Beam or Blizzard.

Our strategy

Four of her five Pokémon are Water-type: an Electric-type Pokémon (Raichu, Zapdos, Magneton) cleans house. Jynx, Ice and Psychic, fears Fire and Rock. Watch out for her Lapras and its Blizzard, and for Slowbro, which toughens up with Amnesia: hit it fast.

Our strategy

Fighting-type Pokémon are helpless against Psychic: Alakazam, Hypno or Lapras with Psychic knock them out in one hit. His two Onix fear Water and Grass (Surf sweeps them away). Machamp, at level 58, knows Fissure: don’t dawdle.

Yellow

In Yellow, the Elite Four’s teams stay the same but the moves change: Bruno’s Onix knows Earthquake and Rock Slide, and Lorelei’s Slowbro uses Surf and Psychic.
