🦴The Lab: reviving your fossils

In the Pokémon Lab, a scientist in the back room revives fossils. Hand over your Dome Fossil or your Helix Fossil, as well as the Old Amber from Pewter City, step outside the building and come back: your prehistoric Pokémon are waiting for you, at level 30. Several scientists also offer trades, and one of them gives you TM35 Metronome.

🏚️The Pokémon Mansion

The Gym is locked, and the Secret Key is on B1F of the Pokémon Mansion, a burned-out house in the north of the island. The mansion is a puzzle: Pokémon statues hide switches that alternately open and close certain doors. If a passage is blocked, look for the nearest statue and activate it.

In the rooms, researchers’ journals tell a disturbing story: the discovery of Mew in a faraway jungle, the birth of its “son,” Mewtwo, then the terrible admission that the creature had become impossible to control…

🔥Cinnabar Island Gym

With the Secret Key, the Gym opens its doors to you. Blaine has replaced the usual battles with a quiz: at each door, a machine asks a question about the Pokémon universe. A right answer opens the door; a wrong one forces you to battle a Trainer (Burglar or Super Nerd). Either way, you can move forward.

Our strategy

A fast Water-type Pokémon settles it: Surf, Hydro Pump or BubbleBeam knock out his Pokémon in one or two hits. Rock- and Ground-type Pokémon (Rhyhorn, Graveler, Dugtrio) also resist his flames. Arcanine, at level 47, knows Fire Blast: don’t let it attack first.
