Your main teacher, Jacq, is also the creator of the Pokédex app on the Rotom Phone. Visit him in the Academy’s Biology Room:

Pokédex milestones

In addition to Jacq, the Pokédex app itself gives a reward for every 10 Pokémon caught, in the form of milestones. A few notable milestones:

  • evolution stones (Thunder, Fire, Water, Dusk, Shiny, Moon, Dawn) from the very first milestones;
  • rare Poké Balls: Fast Ball (240), Friend Ball (260), Level Ball (280), Lure Ball (300), Heavy Ball (320), Moon Ball (340), Dream Ball (360) and Beast Ball (400);
  • Exp. Candies, Star Pieces and Nuggets.

The method for catching them all

1. Catch everything you come across

Get into the habit of catching every new species. “Let’s Go!” battles and mass outbreaks help you fill the first pages quickly.

2. Evolve them

A catch also counts for the evolutions you obtain. Some Paldea evolutions are unusual:

  • Pawmo → Pawmot: walk 1,000 steps in “Let’s Go!” mode, then level up;
  • Dudunsparce: teach Dunsparce Hyper Drill, then level it up;
  • Gholdengo: 999 Gimmighoul Coins;
  • Charcadet: Auspicious Armor (Armarouge, Scarlet) or Malicious Armor (Ceruledge, Violet);
  • Finizen → Palafin: reach level 38 during a Union Circle session with another player.

3. Fill in the exclusives

Twenty-five pairs of Pokémon are exclusive (Larvitar / Bagon, Drifloon / Misdreavus, the Paradox Pokémon…). There are three solutions:

  • trading with a friend who has the other version;
  • Union Circle: by playing with a player of the other version, you come across their exclusive Pokémon in their world;
  • other players’ online Tera Raid Battles, which can offer Pokémon from the other version.

The full list is on the mini-site home page. See also our trading guide.

4. Post-game Pokémon

Part of the Pokédex (Paradox Pokémon, Koraidon / Miraidon…) is only available after the story, in Area Zero. The Paldea Pokédex actually ends with Koraidon (399) and Miraidon (400).

  • KoraidonFightingDragonNo. 399 in the Paldea Pokédex
  • MiraidonElectricDragonNo. 400 in the Paldea Pokédex

What about the other Pokédexes?

The expansions add two regional Pokédexes, each with its own certificate: the Kitakami Pokédex (The Teal Mask, reward: the Glimmering Charm, handed over by Jacq) and the Blueberry Pokédex (The Indigo Disk, certificate handed over by Drayton).
