The Teal Mask: the Loyal Three, the Masks and Catching Ogerpon

To repair Ogerpon’s mask, the grandfather needs a rare material: a crystal from Crystal Pool. Once there, a Milotic attacks you; defeat it with Carmine to get the crystal. Briar joins you: the lake’s energy resembles that of the Terastal phenomenon, which explains why Terastallization works in Kitakami.

Kieran and the awakening of the Loyal Three

At Loyalty Plaza, Kieran is waiting for you with the mask he took: he reproaches you for lying to him and challenges you. After his defeat, he hands back the mask and, in anger, strikes the Loyal Three’s tomb. The monument begins to shake… and the three Loyal Three come back to life. They take back the three masks kept at Kitakami Hall and attack Ogerpon at the Dreaded Den. Drive them back.

The mask recovery squad

With Carmine, you set out to recover the three masks. Each of the Loyal Three has become bigger and stronger, like a Paldean Titan Pokémon, and is fought with Carmine’s help.

Ask the residents of Mossui Town to find their hiding places. Ground is super effective against all three, and a Steel-type Pokémon is immune to their Poison-type moves. Fezandipiti first flies off to another spot on Oni Mountain before the battle.

Ogerpon’s four masks

Ogerpon is a legendary Grass-type Pokémon. Each of its masks, held as an item, gives it a second type and a different Ability.

The final battle against Kieran and catching Ogerpon

With the masks recovered, Kieran joins you: he has revealed the truth to the whole village, which apologizes to Ogerpon. But as you’re about to take Ogerpon home, it wants to follow you instead. Jealous, Kieran demands one last battle: the winner will be able to catch Ogerpon.

His final team mixes Shiftry, Yanmega, Gliscor, Poliwrath, Probopass and his Dipplin. Bring Ice (effective against Gliscor ×4, Yanmega and Dipplin) and Fighting or Ground against Probopass.

Finally comes the battle against Ogerpon itself: it changes masks over the course of the fight and Terastallizes in each of its four forms. Once Terastallized, it keeps only the type of its mask: Grass, then Water, Fire and Rock. You therefore need a varied team: Fire, Flying or Ice against Grass, Electric against Water, Water or Ground against Fire and Rock.

After the story

• Carmine challenges you one last time at Loyalty Plaza, before the return to Blueberry Academy with Kieran and Briar.
• The photographer Perrin then offers you an investigation into a legendary beast of Kitakami: it leads to Bloodmoon Ursaluna, a unique form of Ursaluna.
• Completing the Kitakami Pokédex earns you, from Jacq, a diploma and the Glimmering Charm, which increases the number of Tera Shards obtained in raids.
