The eighth and final Gym stands at the summit of Glaseado Mountain, the great snowy mountain in northern Paldea. Its Gym Leader, Grusha, is a former snowboarding prospect whose career ended after an accident. Aloof at first glance, he takes his role as Gym Leader very seriously.

Making your way to the summit

From Medali or Montenevera, climb the slopes of Glaseado Mountain. The cold and snow make it hard to see, so follow the marked paths and touch the Pokémon Centers along the way. Glaseado Mountain is home to many Ice- and Dragon-type Pokémon, but also high-level ones: heal often.

The test: the slalom

Since Grusha is a former snowboarder, the test is a ski run… on the back of Koraidon / Miraidon. You have to go down a snowy course, passing between the slalom gates, in under 1 minute 30 seconds.

Automatic calculation based on the team above: number of Pokémon hit super effectively (the Pokémon that Terastallizes is counted with its Tera type, immunity Abilities included).

Our strategy

  • Frosmoth (Ice/Bug) is 4× weak to Fire and Rock. It uses Tailwind, which doubles its team’s Speed for a few turns: take it out quickly.
  • Beartic has Earthquake: your Fire-, Rock- and Steel-type Pokémon need to watch out for it. Its Aqua Jet strikes first.
  • Cetitan has the Thick Fat Ability, which halves Fire- and Ice-type damage: go for Fighting, Rock or Steel instead. It answers with Liquidation (Water).
  • Altaria (Dragon/Flying) Terastallizes into the Ice type. It knows Dragon Pulse, Ice Beam, Moonblast and Hurricane: very wide coverage.

Fire, Fighting, Rock and Steel types all hit every one of Grusha’s Pokémon super effectively (except against Cetitan with Fire, because of Thick Fat). A Steel-type Pokémon also resists Ice.
