The Schedar Squad is Team Star’s Fire branch. Its boss, Mela, has a fiery temper just like her Pokémon. She is also the one who figured out how to start up the Starmobiles.

Finding the base

The base is in East Province (Area One), tucked against South Province (Area Three), not far from Artazon. Team Star barriers block the road from East Province (Area One) to Levincia: they disappear once the squad is disbanded. Clive joins you again at the entrance.

For the Star Barrage, put three Water, Ground or Rock Pokémon at the front of your team: the squad’s Fire-type Pokémon will go down fast.

Automatic calculation based on the team above: number of Pokémon hit super effectively (the Pokémon that Terastallizes is counted with its Tera type, immunity Abilities included).

The trap in this battle is Torkoal‘s Ability: Drought. When it enters the battle, it triggers harsh sunlight for several turns. Under this sunlight:

  • Fire attacks are boosted by 50%;
  • Water attacks are cut in half.

Your Water-type Pokémon therefore lose much of their effectiveness. Favor Ground and Rock, which aren’t affected by the weather and hit both opponents super effectively. A Rock-type Pokémon also resists Fire attacks. The Starmobile uses Overheat, very powerful but lowering its user’s Sp. Atk, and Screech, which sharply lowers your Defense.

Rewards

Mela gives you the Fire Badge and TM038 Flame Charge, a Fire move that raises the user’s Speed. In a flashback, you learn that she was bullied at the Academy out of jealousy, and that it was with a group of Charcadet that she managed to start the first Starmobile.

What’s next? Levincia and Iono, very close by, then the Navi Squad.
