The Test: Warming Up the Crowd

Ryme asks you to be the opening act for her concert. The test is to win three Double Battles in a row on stage. The last opponent is MC Kilpatron, the venue’s hype man. With each victory, the stage lights up a little more before the star arrives.

Automatic calculation based on the team above: number of Pokémon hit super effectively (the Pokémon that Terastallizes is counted with its Tera type, immunity Abilities included).

Our Strategy

  • Mimikyu (Ghost/Fairy) takes the first hit without damage thanks to its disguise (ability Disguise). Break it with a small move before bringing out the big guns, and watch out for Shadow Sneak, which always strikes first.
  • Banette also has Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch, two priority moves.
  • Houndstone knows Play Rough, a Fairy move that hurts your Dark Pokémon.
  • Toxtricity (Electric/Poison, Low Key Form) Terastallizes into Ghost. Its ability Punk Rock boosts its sound-based moves like Hyper Voice, a very powerful Normal move that hits all the Pokémon around it.

Dark and Ghost types are super effective against the whole team, and Dark types resist Ghost moves: it is the ideal weapon. A Normal Pokémon is immune to their Ghost moves, which makes it an excellent partner in a Double Battle… except against Toxtricity’s Hyper Voice. Against a non-Terastallized Toxtricity, Ground is devastating (×4 on Electric/Poison): don’t hesitate to target it first, before it changes type.
