The Quaking Earth Titan is the only one that changes depending on your version: in Scarlet it’s Great Tusk, a Paradox Pokémon from the past; in Violet it’s Iron Treads, its counterpart from the future. Two strange cousins of Donphan… whose existence intrigues Arven.

Finding the Titan

It’s in the middle of Asado Desert, in western Paldea, north of Cascarrafa. The desert is vast and sandstorms reduce visibility: follow the marker Arven placed on your map.

The fight

After a first solo battle, the Titan devours the Sour Herba Mystica and returns for a second round. Arven backs you up with his Scovillain (Grass/Fire, Lv. 44).

Great Tusk fears Water, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic and Fairy. Its Protosynthesis ability boosts its best stat in harsh sunlight: avoid using Sunny Day yourself.

Iron Treads fears Water, Fire, Fighting and Ground, and it is immune to Electric and Poison. Its Quark Drive ability boosts its best stat on Electric Terrain.

In both versions, Water is the ideal weapon. A Gyarados (Water/Flying) is perfect: it hits super effectively and isn’t bothered by Ground moves. Both Titans use Rapid Spin, Knock Off (which makes your Pokémon lose its item) and Bulldoze.

Reward: Glide

The Sour Herba Mystica gives Koraidon / Miraidon the ability to glide: jump from a height and hold the jump button to cover long distances through the air. Combined with Jump, it’s the fastest way to cross valleys. You also receive the Ground Titan Badge.

What’s next? The last one, the False Dragon Titan, at Lv. 57.
