The Open Sky Titan is a giant Bombirdier, a mischievous bird that loves dropping rocks on anything passing beneath it. It rules a mountain in West Province (Area One), between Cortondo and Cascarrafa. It’s one of the most important Titans to beat early: it gives your ride Pokémon back the ability to swim.

Finding Bombirdier

Head to West Province (Area One). The Titan is at the summit of the mountain in the area, at the top of a path climbing alongside a waterfall. While you’re there, note that the Team Star Segin Squad (Lv. 21) is based in the same area.

The fight

Like all Titans, Bombirdier fights in two parts: a first solo battle, then, after eating the Bitter Herba Mystica, a second battle where Arven backs you up with his Nacli (Rock), very effective against Flying.

Immunity
GroundPsychic
  • Bombirdier (Flying/Dark) fears Electric, Ice, Rock and Fairy.
  • It is immune to Ground (it flies) and to Psychic (Dark type).
  • It uses Flying and Rock moves, and Torment, which stops you from using the same move twice in a row: plan for at least two effective attacks.

Pawmi, evolved into Pawmo at Lv. 18, is perfect here. Fairy-type Pokémon from South Province (Area One), like Fidough, also do the job nicely.

Reward: Swim

With the Bitter Herba Mystica, Arven gives Koraidon / Miraidon back Swim: your ride can now travel across lakes, rivers and the sea. A whole part of Paldea becomes accessible, notably islets hiding items. You also receive the Flying Titan Badge.

What’s next? The Lurking Steel Titan, in the mines of East Province (Area Three).
