Getting to Cascarrafa

From Cortondo, head north through West Province (Area One). Cascarrafa is at the north of this area, with the Asado Desert just above and West Province (Area Three) to the east. The port of Porto Marinada, where the test takes place, is on the west coast, at the end of West Province (Area Two).

The Test: The Porto Marinada Auction

When you arrive, Kofu dashes off to do his shopping… forgetting his wallet. The receptionist asks you to bring it to him at Porto Marinada. There, Kofu’s right-hand man challenges you, then the confused Gym Leader decides that your test will exceptionally take place at the market.

The test, “Win the auction!”, consists of buying the Hoenn wakame seaweed that Kofu wants for his restaurant:

  • the auction starts at 10,000 Poké Dollars;
  • Kofu lends you 50,000 Poké Dollars: your own money is never at risk;
  • each turn, you can pass, call or raise;
  • two other buyers raise the price, then drop out when it gets too high. As soon as they withdraw, the test is passed.

Automatic calculation based on the team above: number of Pokémon hit super effectively (the Pokémon that Terastallizes is counted with its Tera type, immunity Abilities included).

Our Strategy

  • Veluza (Water/Psychic) has the ability Mold Breaker, which ignores your Pokémon’s defensive abilities. It fears Grass, Electric, Bug, Ghost and Dark.
  • Wugtrio uses Mud-Slap, a Ground move that is super effective against your Electric Pokémon and lowers their accuracy. Prefer a Grass Pokémon against it.
  • Crabominable is Fighting/Ice, but it Terastallizes into Water: it then only fears Grass and Electric. Its ability Iron Fist boosts Crabhammer, a very powerful Ice move that lowers its user’s Speed, and which hurts your Grass Pokémon.

Grass and Electric types are super effective against the whole team. Ideally: an Electric Pokémon for Veluza and Crabominable, and a Grass Pokémon for Wugtrio.
