Each member of the Blueberry League Elite Four awaits you in an area of the Terarium. Before facing them, you have to pass their challenge. All battles are Double Battles, with Pokémon of levels 77 to 80 holding battle items. You can take them on in any order you like.

Crispin — Fire (Savanna Biome)

The challenge: make an ultra-spicy sandwich, using only ingredients obtained during the challenge by battling Trainers and trading items: jalapeños, chili sauce, chorizo, onions and mustard.

His team: Talonflame, Heat Rotom, Exeggutor, Camerupt, Magmortar and Blaziken, which Terastallizes into the Fire type. All of his Pokémon can Terastallize into Fire. Think Water, Rock and Ground, but be careful: Heat Rotom (Ability Levitate) is immune to Ground. His reward: TM207 Temper Flare.

Amarys — Steel (Canyon Biome)

The challenge: a time trial in flight. Amarys gives your ride Pokémon a special food that lets it fly temporarily: pass through all the rings to the finish.

Her team: Skarmory, Alolan Dugtrio, Scizor, Reuniclus, Empoleon and Metagross, which Terastallizes into the Steel type. Fire and Fighting are your best weapons, with two exceptions: Empoleon (Water/Steel) is weak to Electric, Fighting and Ground, and Reuniclus (Psychic) is weak to Bug, Ghost and Dark. Her reward: TM225 Hard Press.

Lacey — Fairy (Coastal Biome)

The challenge: a quiz about five Pokémon. Each wrong answer triggers a battle against a Trainer. Lacey is also the one who shows you around the Academy when you arrive.

Her team: Whimsicott, Granbull, Primarina, Galarian Slowbro, Alcremie and Excadrill, which Terastallizes into the Fairy type. Use Steel and Poison; watch out for Excadrill (Ground/Steel), which is weak to Fire, Water, Fighting and Ground before its Terastallization. Her reward: TM227 Alluring Voice.

Drayton — Dragon (Polar Biome)

The challenge: defeat three Trainers using only Pokémon that you caught yourself in the Terarium. Plan on catching a few strong Pokémon before you start.

His team: Dragonite, Flygon, Haxorus, Sceptile, Kingdra and Archaludon, which Terastallizes into the Dragon type. Ice, Fairy and Dragon dominate; Flygon (Levitate) is immune to Ground, and Archaludon (Steel/Dragon) is only weak to Fighting and Ground before its Terastallization. His reward: TM226 Dragon Cheer.

The Champion: Kieran

Once the Elite Four are beaten, Kieran awaits you on the field at the entrance to the Academy, at levels 80 to 82. His team has changed a lot since Kitakami: Dragonite, Politoed, Incineroar, Porygon-Z, Grimmsnarl and Hydrapple, Dipplin’s new evolution, which Terastallizes. Aim for level 80 and a varied team able to answer Dragon (Ice, Fairy) as well as Dark (Fighting, Bug, Fairy).

After his defeat, Kieran is left in shock, despite his friends’ outstretched hands. What’s next: the expedition to Area Zero and Terapagos.
