Alola has its own legends: a small cloud of stars that becomes the emissary of the sun or the moon, four guardian deities who each watch over an island, and a prism from another world. Here is where and how to get each of them.

🌞The cover duo

Cosmog and Cosmoem

The Nebula Pokémon, a Psychic type. Nebby, Lillie’s companion, evolves into Cosmoem at Aether Paradise, then into a legendary at the Altar. After the League, a second Cosmog awaits you at the Lake of the Sunne/Moone on Ula’ula Island, on the other side of the Altar’s rift, at level 5.

🗿The four guardian deities

Each island has its guardian deity, revered by the inhabitants: it is the one that chooses the Kahuna. All four are Fairy types, and each covers the field in a particular terrain as soon as it enters battle. They can be caught at level 60, after the League, in their ruins.

Tapu Koko, Melemele Island

Electric and Fairy. It saves you on the bridge at the start of the game and challenges you at the Ruins of Conflict after the League. It covers the field in electricity.

💎Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts

Necrozma

The Prism Pokémon, a Psychic type. Once all of Looker’s missions are complete, it appears in the tall grass of the Farthest Hollow, in the heart of Ten Carat Hill, at level 75.

🧬Zygarde and Type: Null

Zygarde

The Order Pokémon, Dragon and Ground, from X and Y. In Alola, it is built cell by cell. With 10 Cells, the prefab building on Route 16 assembles a 10% Forme Zygarde at level 50; with 50, a 50% Forme Zygarde. Cores teach it new moves, and with all the organisms you get a Zygarde with the Power Construct Ability, which takes its Complete Forme in battle.

Type: Null and Silvally

After the League, Gladion entrusts you at Aether Paradise with a level 40 Type: Null, with seventeen Memories. With high friendship, it evolves into Silvally, whose type changes depending on the Memory it holds.

🎁The mythicals

  • Magearna, Steel and Fairy, was obtained by scanning a special QR code distributed by The Pokémon Company.
  • Marshadow, Fighting and Ghost, was distributed in 2017, with the Marshadium Z.
  • The legendaries of earlier generations do not live in Alola: they arrive through Pokémon Bank or by trade. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, however, offer many of them thanks to the Ultra Warp Ride.

Distributions ended long ago. See our guide Events and distributions, and to succeed at each catch, Catching the legendaries.
