🔬The lab and the Rotom Dex

On the way, Lillie finally reveals the name of her protégé: Cosmog. At the lab, a wooden cabin on the edge of the beach, Kukui slips a Rotom into your Pokédex: this is the Rotom Dex. It displays the map on the bottom screen, tells you your next destination and comments on your adventures.

The Professor also gives you an Amulet, which lets everyone know you are taking part in the Island Challenge.

🏥The first Pokémon Center

Lillie shows you around the Pokémon Center, west of your home. In Alola, every Center houses a shop counter and a café. You also unlock the Festival Plaza there, the online trading and meeting space of Sun and Moon.

🏫The Trainers’ School

Right next door, Kukui is waiting for you at the Trainers’ School. He gives you the Exp. Share, which shares experience among all your Pokémon: you can switch it on or off at any time in the Bag. To pass the exam, defeat the four students scattered around the school.

  • Logane, the Athlete, in the alley to the right of the building, with a Pikipek.
  • Kendall, the Youngster, in the left-hand pen, with a Metapod.
  • Lumi, the little girl, inside, with a Bonsly.
  • Guylain, the Preschooler, on the playground, with an Alolan Grimer. He gives you TM01 Work Up.

The principal then summons you upstairs for a final battle, with a Magnemite and an Alolan Meowth. Once victorious, you receive five Great Balls. On your way out, Kukui introduces you to a stylish young man: Ilima, the first Captain you will face.
