A series of ponds linked by waterfalls, west of Route 5: this is the territory of Lana, the Water-type Captain. Something is stirring the surface, and the hill’s Pokémon are afraid.

🌊Lapras and the ripples

Lana welcomes you at the entrance bridge and takes you to the edge of the first pond. She registers Lapras in your Ride Pager: Lapras Paddle replaces the HM Surf. Your mission: investigate the ripples that are scaring the Pokémon away.

Approach the first ripple: a small level 17 Wishiwashi attacks you. At the second, another Wishiwashi keeps calling a kin to its aid, even when asleep or paralyzed: beat them and keep going. Come ashore at the back of the hill and go through the Trial’s gate.

🐟The Totem Wishiwashi

One last ripple, bigger than the others: an entire school of Wishiwashi gathers into a gigantic silhouette. The battle takes place in the rain, which strengthens its Water attacks.

Lana gives you the Waterium Z, the Fishing Rod and ten Dive Balls, then walks you back to Route 5.

🎣What the ponds hide

With the Rod, go back and fish in the ponds. Target the ripples, where rare Pokémon show up far more often.

Grab TM55 Scald, east of the third pond, in a dead end: a Water attack that burns three times out of ten.
