All Evolutions

Alola keeps the evolution methods of previous generations and adds new ones: an evolution that depends on the time of day, others that only happen at a specific spot in the archipelago, and Kanto Pokémon that evolve into Alolan forms. Here are all the evolutions of the 302 Pokémon in the Alola Pokédex.

✨Methods unique to Alola

• Time of day: Rockruff becomes Midday Form Lycanroc if it evolves during the day, and Midnight Form at night. Yungoos evolves during the day, Alolan Rattata at night, and Fomantis only during the day. Remember that Pokémon Moon is offset by twelve hours.
• Alolan forms upon evolution: in Alola, Pikachu becomes Alolan Raichu with a Thunder Stone, Exeggcute becomes Alolan Exeggutor with a Leaf Stone, and Cubone becomes Alolan Marowak if it evolves at night. Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Sandshrew evolve with an Ice Stone.
• Gender: only a female Salandit becomes Salazzle.
• A move to know: Steenee must know Stomp to become Tsareena.
• Rain: Sliggoo becomes Goodra at level 50, as long as it is raining on the route where it levels up.
• Cosmog evolves into Cosmoem at level 43, then into Solgaleo in Sun or Lunala in Moon at level 53.

📍Location-based evolutions

• Crabrawler only becomes Crabominable when it levels up on Mount Lanakila.
• Charjabug, Magneton and Nosepass become Vikavolt, Magnezone and Probopass when they level up at Blush Mountain or Vast Poni Canyon, where a magnetic field reigns.
• Eevee becomes Leafeon near the Moss Rock in Lush Jungle, and Glaceon near the Icy Rock on Mount Lanakila.

💡Good to know

• Friendship is built up in Poké Refresh: pet your Pokémon and feed it Poké Beans. The Soothe Bell, given on Route 3, speeds it up.
• Sylveon requires two hearts of affection in Poké Refresh and a Fairy-type move.
• Trade evolutions are still possible locally between two consoles. See Festival Plaza and trading.
• Stones can be found all over: Fire Stone in Diglett’s Tunnel, Thunder Stone and Water Stone on Route 8, Moon Stone on Route 13, Ice Stone in Po Town, Dusk Stone in the Poni Wilds.
