Not every Pokémon in Alola is caught in the grass. Some are given to you, others are traded for a specific Pokémon in a Pokémon Center, a few are revived from a fossil, and some appear only once. Here is the list, drawn from the location pages.
🎁Gifted Pokémon
Your starter Pokémon, in Iki Town; the Egg from the Nursery at Paniola Ranch; Type: Null at Aether Paradise and Porygon at the Aether House after the League; Cosmog at the Lake of the Sunne/Moone; an Aerodactyl in Seafolk Village. The table details every gift.

📡The Island Scan
After accumulating 100 points with the QR Scan, you can start an Island Scan: a Pokémon from elsewhere, absent from the Alola Pokédex, appears for one hour on the island where you are. It depends on the island and the day of the week, and often knows a move it normally only learns through breeding.
| Day | Melemele Island | Akala Island | Ula’ula Island | Poni Island |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | ||||
| Tuesday | ||||

The details of how it works are in our guide QR Scan and Island Scan.
