The C-Gear is the successor to the Pokégear, the PokéNav and the Poképhone. On the touch screen, it brings together everything that connects your game to the rest of the world: infrared, wireless, the Internet and a mysterious island at the heart of Unova, the Entralink.
You receive the C-Gear from Fennel, in Striaton City, after retrieving the Dream Mist at the Dreamyard (step 5). It displays the time, the day and the console’s battery. Careful: when switched on, it uses more power.

The C-Gear also lets you answer the surveys from Castelia City’s survey office to the trainers you meet, and customize the position of the icons.
🏝️The Entralink
The Entralink is an island at the center of Unova, otherwise unreachable. You enter from the C-Gear’s wireless menu, as long as you are outdoors. The bridges to the east and west of the island lead to other players’ worlds, and the place is reminiscent of Central Park in the heart of Manhattan.
- Visit your friends’ world: via the Entralink, you enter another player’s game and complete missions there.
- The Entralink tree, a tree with two branches, one black and one white, coiled in a helix. Each mission completed in the world of a Black player makes the black branch grow; in that of a White player, the white branch.
- Pass Powers: the tree offers temporary powers (more experience, more money, better capture odds…) that last a few minutes. Our Premium guide The Entralink Pass Powers details them all.
- The Entree Forest, in the north of the island, used to host the Pokémon that became your friends in the Dream World: they were caught with Dream Balls, never-fail Balls that exist only there.
