🌿Route 1: your first capture

The Professor shows you how to weaken and then catch a wild Pokémon, here a Patrat, and gives you 5 Poké Balls. Bianca then proposes a little catching contest: there is nothing to win, except her admiration.

In the tall grass, you will come across Patrat and Lillipup. Lillipup is an excellent recruit: it evolves into Herdier at Level 16 and then into Stoutland, a sturdy Normal Pokémon that will serve you for a long time.

Notice the flowers along the path: they change color with the season, the big novelty of Black and White. Later, with Surf, the western part of the route, its dark grass and its access to Route 17 will open up to you.
