Skyla’s Gym occupies an aviation hangar. No stairs or walkways: you get around by being fired out of giant cannons, from platform to platform, through colored rings.

💥The cannons

The Gym Guide gives you a Fresh Water at the entrance. Step into a cannon: it launches you toward another platform. Each platform leads to several cannons and to workers or pilots to battle, with their Tranquill, Ducklett, Sigilyph and Unfezant. Once Skyla is defeated, the cannon behind her takes you straight back to the entrance.

Our strategy

All of her Pokémon fear Electric and Rock. A Zebstrika from Route 7 or a Boldore works wonders, and a Vanillish’s Ice attacks hit Swoobat and Unfezant hard.
Swoobat, Psychic and Flying, has Amnesia to boost its Special Defense: hit it with physical attacks, or Dark and Ghost.
Unfezant uses Razor Wind and Air Slash, which can cause flinching.
Swanna (Level 35), Water and Flying, truly fears only Electric and Rock: Aqua Ring restores its HP every turn, so do not dawdle. Beware of Aerial Ace, which never misses.

Skyla hands you the Jet Badge and TM62 Acrobatics, a Flying move whose power doubles when the user holds no item.

With your sixth Badge in your pocket, head north, toward Twist Mountain. Next step: Twist Mountain.
