Pinwheel Forest separates Nacrene City from Skyarrow Bridge. Its edge, made of puddles and rocks, is the realm of Fighting Pokémon; its darker heart, that of Bugs. Somewhere in this labyrinth, Team Plasma is hiding the Dragon Skull.

🥊The edge and the training rock

As you leave Nacrene City, a Battle Girl gives you TM94 Rock Smash. The hole in the fence leads to the outer part of the forest, with its puddles and its Fighting Pokémon: Timburr, and depending on your version Sawk or Throh in the tall grass (the other hides in the rustling grass). To the southeast, a hill holds the training rock: hit it once a day with a Fighting Pokémon to win a Star Piece, which sells for 4,900 ₽.

🌲In the heart of the forest

The heart of the forest only opens with the Basic Badge. Its tall grass teems with Bugs: Sewaddle, Venipede, and a Grass Pokémon that depends on your version.

Noire

In Black, you will find Cottonee, a cottony Grass type that will evolve into Whimsicott with a Sun Stone. The rustling grass sometimes hides a Whimsicott directly.

Blanche

In White, you will find Petilil, which will evolve into Lilligant with a Sun Stone. The rustling grass sometimes hides a Lilligant directly.

The rustling grass also shelters the three elemental monkeys: a chance to complete the trio you did not receive.

🦴The chase after Team Plasma

The Grunts have scattered through the western maze. They challenge you one by one with Sandile, Purrloin and Patrat around level 16. Sandile, a Ground and Dark type, is weak to Water, Grass, Fighting, Bug and Ice. The last Grunt hands over the Dragon Skull, immediately taken back by Lenora. To thank you, the Gym Leader gives you a Moon Stone: enough to evolve a Munna into Musharna.

🍃Rumination Field

To the northeast, a small path leads to Rumination Field. It stays closed throughout the story: it will only open after you meet Cobalion, after the League. Virizion, one of the three members of the Swords of Justice, will be waiting for you there at level 42. See step 33.

West of the forest, an immense white structure looms above the water. Next stop: Skyarrow Bridge and Castelia City.
