Gift and one-time Pokémon

Some Pokémon aren’t caught in tall grass: they are given to you, traded to you, or met only once. Don’t miss them, as some can’t be found any other way. Here is the complete list, drawn from the data for each location.

🎁Gift Pokémon

Your starter Pokémon, the monkey from the Dreamyard (chosen based on your starter), the Magikarp sold for ₽500 on the Marvelous Bridge, and the Larvesta Egg on Route 18:

🔁In-game trades

Pokémon received through trade gain more experience, but only obey you if you have enough Badges. Some arrive holding an item:

• Nacrene City: Petilil (Black) or Cottonee (White), holding a Cheri Berry. The only simple way to get the other version’s exclusive.
• Driftveil City: a Basculin of the other version’s form, holding a Sitrus Berry, in exchange for a Minccino.
• Route 7: an Emolga, holding a Lum Berry, in exchange for a Boldore.
• Route 15: a Rotom, holding a Max Elixir, in exchange for a Ditto from Giant Chasm.
• Undella Town: a Munchlax in exchange for a Cinccino, in summer.

⭐One-time encounters

These Pokémon can only be met once. Save before the battle: if you knock it out, it is often lost for good.
