Victory Road is the last trial before the League: a mountain you climb by alternating outdoor paths, caves and ramps. Its Trainers, around level 45, are among the strongest in the adventure.

Objective
Reach the summit and the Pokémon League
Rewards
TM02 Dragon Claw, TM12 Taunt, TM93 Wild Charge
Recommended level
46 to 48

⛰️The climb

The route alternates open-air mountain paths with caves linked by staircases. Surf lets you reach a few extra items. A Nurse heals your team once beaten: take advantage of it to chain Trainer battles.

Don’t miss the TMs: TM93 Wild Charge outside, on the west side, TM12 Taunt on the easternmost ledge and TM02 Dragon Claw in the west chamber reachable from the second floor.

🐉The Pokémon of Victory Road

  • DeinoDarkDragon

Deino, Dark and Dragon, in the middle and right-hand rooms of the ground floor. It will become Zweilous and then Hydreigon, Unova's pseudo-legendary, but slowly: at levels 50 and 64.

  • DurantBugSteel

Durant, Bug and Steel, very common in the caves. Its swift ants hit hard.

  • HeatmorFire

Heatmor, a Fire-type anteater, very common outside. The natural enemy of Durant.

  • ExcadrillGroundSteel

Excadrill, in the dust clouds of the caves.

Outside, the big bird of prey of your version is still waiting for you (Vullaby in Black, Rufflet in White), along with Mienfoo and, very rarely, Fraxure, a Dragon-type that will become Haxorus at level 48.

🔑What Victory Road is hiding

Some areas will only open after the story:

  • the Trial Chamber, where Terrakion, one of the Swords of Justice, awaits you at level 42;
  • the sixth floor, where Cheren, now much stronger, challenges you once a day with a level 65 team.

See step 33 for all the details. At the summit, the Pokémon League building rises before you. Next step: the Pokémon League.
