In Johto, trees bear fruit. Apricorns, which Kurt turns into special Poké Balls, and Berries, which your Pokémon can hold to heal themselves mid-battle. Each tree gives one fruit per day: with a little regularity, you will never run short of anything.
Kurt’s Balls
Kurt, the craftsman of Azalea Town, makes a special Ball from each Apricorn. Bring him an Apricorn: the Ball is ready the next day. He can only work on one at a time.
| Apricorn | Ball | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Level Ball | More effective if your Pokémon’s level is higher than the wild Pokémon’s. |
| Blue | Lure Ball | More effective on a Pokémon caught with a rod. |
| Yellow | Moon Ball | Designed for Pokémon that evolve with a Moon Stone. |
| Green | Friend Ball | The caught Pokémon is immediately more attached to you. |
| Pink | Love Ball | Designed for a Pokémon of the same species and the opposite gender to yours. |
| White | Fast Ball | Designed for fast Pokémon that tend to flee. |
| Black | Heavy Ball | More effective on very heavy Pokémon. |
