He steals a Pokémon from Professor Elm’s lab, despises the weak and believes only in strength. Silver is the darkest rival of the series… and one of the most endearing, once you find out who he really is. Here are all his battles, with his teams depending on your starter.
Who is Silver?
The rival of Gold, Silver and Crystal is nothing like a childhood friend. He steals the starter that has the advantage over yours and challenges you as early as Cherrygrove City. His default name is Silver, but you are the one who names him when the officer asks you for the thief’s name. His hatred of Team Rocket and his red hair fueled a theory that the remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver confirmed: he is the son of Giovanni, the organization’s former leader. Over the course of the battles, and above all after his defeat against Lance, he learns that strength is not enough and that his Pokémon deserve his respect.
