Gold, Silver and Crystal feature 50 Technical Machines (TMs) and 7 Hidden Machines (HMs). A TM can only be used once; an HM can be used endlessly but is hard to forget. Here is each one, its move and every place to get it.
TM or HM: what you need to know
- A TM disappears after use. Think before teaching it: some exist in only one copy (Earthquake, Shadow Ball…). A few are sold in unlimited quantities, like Headbutt and Rock Smash in Goldenrod City once you have obtained the first copy.
- An HM is reusable, but an HM move can only be forgotten at the Move Deleter in Blackthorn City.
- Each HM requires a Badge to be used outside battle: Zephyr (Flash), Hive (Cut), Plain (Strength), Fog (Surf), Storm (Fly), Glacier (Whirlpool) and Rising (Waterfall).
