Sixty-four Berries in the fourth generation: enough to heal, to boost, to bake Poffins, and even to attack with Natural Gift. Sinnoh is full of them, as long as you know how to pick and replant them. Here is where to find every Berry and how to grow them.
All over Sinnoh, patches of soft soil host Berry trees. Pick the ripe fruit, then plant a Berry in the empty soil: it will grow back and give you several more.
A Berry held by a Pokémon is eaten on its own at the right moment: an Oran or Sitrus Berry when HP drops, a Cheri Berry against paralysis, a Persim Berry against confusion, a Lum Berry against every status problem…
🌱Growing Berries
- Plant a Berry in a patch of soft soil: press A in front of the soil.
- Water it with the Wailmer Pail given to you in Floaroma Town, especially when the soil dries out: a well-watered plant yields more fruit.
- Come back when the tree is in bloom, then when it bears fruit: depending on the Berry, this takes from a few hours to more than a day.
- Pick them in time: after a certain delay, the fruit falls and the tree grows back on its own.

🛡️Resist Berries, new in Sinnoh
Sixteen new Berries halve, one time only, the damage of a super effective attack of a given type. For example, the Yache Berry weakens an Ice attack, enough to let a Garchomp survive an Ice Beam, and the Occa Berry weakens a Fire attack. A seventeenth, the Chilan Berry, weakens Normal attacks.
These Berries are rare in the adventure: you mostly get them by growing them, once you have found the first one.
🎁Natural Gift
TM83 Natural Gift makes the Pokémon consume the Berry it holds in order to attack: the type and power of the attack depend on the Berry. It is a way to give a Pokémon a move of a type it doesn’t learn.
Berries are also used to bake the Poffins for Super Contests.
