Valley Windworks supplies a good part of Sinnoh with electricity. Team Galactic has barricaded itself inside, and for the first time, you’ll face one of its Commanders: Mars.

Objective
Free the power plant and defeat Commander Mars
Rewards
a father’s gratitude, and a Drifloon on Fridays
Recommended level
15 to 17

🔑The power plant

Open the door with the Works Key. Two Grunts block your way, with Pokémon from level 10 to 13: Glameow, Stunky, Wurmple or Cascoon. Nothing insurmountable, but heal between battles if needed: there’s no Pokémon Center nearby, the closest being the one in Floaroma Town.

🌌Commander Mars

At the back of the plant, Mars, one of Team Galactic’s Commanders, is holding the little girl’s father. She has only two Pokémon, but her Purugly is faster than most of yours.

Our strategy

Zubat is weak to Electric, Rock, Ice and Psychic. A Shinx or a Luxio handles it in two hits.
Purugly is fast and plays tricks with Fake Out, which causes flinching on the first turn. Hit hard: a Fighting attack (Monferno’s Mach Punch, Machop’s Karate Chop) is super effective against this Normal-type Pokémon.
Her Purugly holds an Oran Berry, which restores its HP once: count on one more hit.

Mars leaves, swearing that you’ll meet again. The father is free, the little girl delighted.

Platinum

In Platinum, Looker is waiting for you at the exit and congratulates you: he’s starting to gauge the threat that Team Galactic poses.

⚡The Pokémon of Valley Windworks

The tall grass around the plant is home to Pachirisu, Sinnoh’s Electric squirrel, and to Shellos in its pink West Sea form. Its blue East Sea form lives only on the other side of Mt. Coronet.
