🧱Route 214

This is one of the most demanding routes in the game: ten trainers with varied teams, including Ruin Maniacs with fossil Pokémon (Cranidos and Shieldon) and Collectors who line up three Pokémon of the same species. Battle them all: you will need the experience for Crasher Wake.

Diamond · Pearl

Stunky lives here in Diamond, Sudowoodo in Pearl.

🕳️The Maniac Tunnel

A small cave opens onto the route. A Ruin Maniac is digging a tunnel there that gets bigger as you catch new forms of Unown. TM28 Dig is hidden behind a boulder near the entrance. The more Unown you have caught, the more frequent Hippopotas become there.

🏨The Lake Valor lakefront

Access to Lake Valor is blocked by a TV crew in the middle of a report: move along. To the south, the Hotel Grand Lake is full, but its receptionist heals your Pokémon for free. Its restaurant hosts wealthy trainers (Rich Boys, Gentlemen, Socialites) who pay out a lot of money.

🏖️Route 213

South of the hotel, the beach of Route 213 runs west. The beach trainers are manageable; those out at sea, who are stronger, require Surf. On the second beach, Dr. Footstep‘s cabin evaluates the happiness of your first Pokémon from its footprints: handy for knowing when Riolu, Togepi or Happiny are about to evolve.

  1. In the house at the top left, a clown gives you TM92 Trick Room, which reverses the order of action for five turns.
  2. East of the doctor’s cabin, TM40 Aerial Ace is hidden behind a boulder (Rock Smash).
  3. At night, the blue form of Shellos, the East Sea one, abounds in the grass.
