Jubilife City is the biggest city in Sinnoh. It is home to the Pokétch Company headquarters, the Jubilife TV network, a Trainers’ School and, later, the Global Trade Station. Oddly, there is no Gym: your first Badge awaits you further east.
- Objective
- Deliver the Parcel to Barry and get the Pokétch
- Rewards
- Town Map, Pokétch, Old Rod, Quick Claw, TM10 Hidden Power (Diamond and Pearl)
- Recommended level
- 7 to 9
🏙️Touring the city
At the city entrance, Dawn (or Lucas) catches up with you for a short tour. Note the Pokémon Center to the south, the Poké Mart right next to it, the Trainers’ School west of the Center, the Pokétch Company headquarters to the northwest and the Jubilife TV building to the north.
In Platinum, a man in a trench coat approaches you during the tour. He introduces himself under the code name Looker: he is an agent of the International Police, here to investigate a suspicious organization. He gives you the Vs. Recorder, which records your battles. You will cross paths with him often.
🏫The Trainers’ School and the Parcel
Barry is waiting for you at the back of the School, in front of the blackboard. Hand him the Parcel: it contains two Sinnoh Town Maps, and Barry gives you the second one. The blackboard in the left-hand room sums up status conditions (sleep, poison, paralysis…): a good refresher for beginners.
In the right-hand room, two students with an Abra each challenge you. Beat them to receive TM10 Hidden Power in Diamond and Pearl, or a Potion in Platinum.
⌚The Pokétch and the three Coupons
On your way out, the president of the Pokétch Company stops you: you won’t leave town without his new watch! Three clowns hand out Coupons to anyone who answers their questions correctly. Answer “Yes” every time.
- Coupon 1: the clown between the Poké Mart and the Pokémon Center.
- Coupon 2: the clown in front of the Pokétch Company headquarters.
- Coupon 3: the clown in front of the Jubilife TV building.
Bring the three Coupons back to the president: he gives you the Pokétch, which is displayed on the touch screen. It only has a clock at first; more apps will be added as you earn Badges. Find them all in our Pokétch guide.
🎣Items and Pokémon in Jubilife City
In the building to the northeast, the blonde-haired girl gives you a Quick Claw, which sometimes lets you act first. In the west, at the exit toward Route 218, a fisherman gives you the Old Rod: it only reels in Magikarp, but it’s a start.
The road west is blocked by water, and the one north by a boulder in a small cave: for now you can only go east, via Route 203. The Team Galactic grunts listed among the Trainers won’t show up until you return, after the first Badge.
